The Colorado is a mid-size truck that has been part of Chevrolet’s lineup since 2004. This two-time Motortrend Truck of the Year winner is available in four trim levels: WT, LT, Z71, and ZR2. There are three possible body configurations. The crew cab can be paired with a long or short bed, and the extended cab is available only with a long bed. 
Chevrolet offers a competitive warranty for this truck. This vehicle comes with a limited warranty for three years/ 36,000 miles and a powertrain warranty for five years/ 60,000 miles. The first maintenance visit is also complimentary.

New/Unique Features 

New for 2022 is the Trailboss package for LT and Z71 models. This dealer-installed package lifts the suspension by 1 inch and adds skid plates to the underside of the truck, improving its offroad capability. In terms of appearance, this package also includes red tow hooks, black exterior badges, and black 17-inch rims. 

Engine and Towing

This truck can be equipped with three different powertrain options. The first is a 2.4-liter I-4 engine that achieves 200 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. A 2.8-liter turbodiesel I-4 is also available, offering 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Finally, a 3.6-liter V-6 engine can be selected to achieve 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. 
The maximum towing capacity of the Colorado is 7,700 lb, which requires the optional diesel engine. The 2.4-liter I-4 engine and the the3.6-liter V-6 engine can tow a maximum of 3,500 and 7,000 lb, respectively.

Technology

Infotainment

Even the work truck (WT) trim level of the Colorado is outfitted with an infotainment system. The base model includes a 7-inch touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the LT trim and up get an 8-inch touchscreen, built-in navigation system, and a Bose audio system. 

Driver Assistance Technology

This truck has driver-assistance features available for additional road safety. Upgrading to the Safety Package adds valuable safety features including forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning. Rear Park Assist is also available as an option for the WT and LT trim levels and is included as standard with the Z71 trim.
