1. Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center

Housing some of the most moving exhibits you’ll ever experience, the Illinois Holocaust Museum on 9603 Woods Drive brings the harrowing stories of Holocaust survivors to life with its permanent collection of artifacts, testimonies, and art. Many of the objects that can be viewed were donated by survivors who settled in the Midwest, and they include the clothes they wore or books they read during some of the darkest hours of World War II.
Visitors can explore a train car that was used to transport concentration camp prisoners or take an emotional virtual reality tour of the Auschwitz prison.

2. Block Museum of Art

This fine art museum is part of Northwestern University’s main campus and can be found at 40 Arts Circle Drive. Its permanent collection features over 6,000 examples of artwork that have been split into dozens of specialized galleries. Its series of South African prints and a gallery of computer-generated art particularly stand out.
